French Door
Screened when you need it, hidden when you don’t, french retractable screen doors are the only way to screen french doors. They roll up completely out of the way when you want to use both doors, or can be stopped to cover just one door for everyday use. They provide maximum fresh air when open, and blend into the background when closed.

Frequently asked questions
How do I get this on my door?
- Give us a call and schedule a measurement appointment.
- We bring samples and colors, show you what its going to look like on your door, and give you pricing on the spot.
- We do most of our fabrication off-site, so installs are usually pretty straightforward. We show up on time, install in around an hour, and leave the work site clean.
Why is your door different than others?
Over the years we’ve installed many doors, experimented with different brands, replaced other brands of doors, and landed on one that lasts best for these reasons:
- Pull bar and track design handles dirt better than competition, requires no lubrication.
- Floor to ceiling magnetic latch disperses magnetism across entire height, creating an easier-to-break seal while not requiring constant replacements of magnets.
- Pull bar falls out when you crash into it, protecting the screen from tearing.
Will this fit in my unique doorway?
We have installed many, many screens and have never run into a square doorway we cant fit something to.
How do the sliding locks work?
Slide locks on one pull bar fit into slots on the door at the top and bottom. This means you can come and go through the unlocked screen without having to reach for both pull bars every time you come and go.
What's your lead time?
Most of the time we run about two weeks out, during the busy season or if we’re out of stock in a style, we can be as much as eight weeks away. In some situations we come to the bid appointment with materials to install if you say go.
WHAT IF I RUN INTO IT?
No sweat. The door is crash resistant. Most cases you can just ensure there are no wrinkles in the fabric and then open and close the door to reset the fabric back into the tracks. In the case of the pull bar falling out of the tracks:
1) Extend the pull bar out past the doorway to expose additional fabric and ensure there are no folds.
2) Put the top of the pull bar into top track.
3) While holding the top of the pull bar stationary, angle the bottom towards the housing, then straighten the pull bar back into the bottom track.
4) Open and close the screen a couple of times to reset fabric into tracks.
If your screen is torn or still won’t retract well, give us a call so we can set up a service appointment.
Will it slam shut?
No. There are rubber bumpers on the door that prevent slamming. Also, when we fabricate our doors, we remove the optional brake because it tends to retract too slow for most people. We are happy to leave it in on request.
I have kids or dogs...
Small pets can’t get through the door, but anything more than 25 lbs can run into the door causing it to slam open. In most cases we see, the pet (or child) learn from that experience and it doesn’t happen again. In some circumstances, we advise a vinyl sticker at eye level on the screen for visibility.
How often does it need to be serviced?
Our doors are low maintenance, but there is a thing or two you can do to extend life of the screen. We recommend washing out the bottom track with a garden hose or compressed air once a season. Be sure to unroll the mesh as much as possible when doing this because dirt and debris can get stuck inside the roll. Lubrication can damage some internal parts, so avoid it if possible.
How long does the screen last?
Our rule of thumb is 6-7 years, but we service doors for the first time around 10 years if they have been cleaned out once or even twice a season. When we service the screen, we bring extra parts to replace anything that isn’t working well.
What is your warranty? How do I register?
Lifetime warranty on metal and moving parts. 1-year warranty on the screen mesh.
When you buy, you are automatically registered.
What dimensions will this cover?
